The Biden administration — which is “the most consistently and virulently anti-Israel administration America has ever seen” — funded last week’s brutal Hamas terrorist attack in Israel “in a very real and concrete way,” according to Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

Senator Ted Cruz, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, discussed the “horrific war” unfolding in the Middle East in a Breitbart News interview. He referred to Hamas’ attack on Israel on Saturday as the “worst attack Israel has faced in 50 years.”

“On Saturday, we saw the biggest mass murder of Jews in a single day since the Holocaust. This horrific act of terrorism. Death squads going house to house, exterminating every person in the house. Systematically looking for civilians, killing elderly people, killing women and killing children, decapitating infants, raping women and girls, dragging them through the streets, taking them hostage, and using them as human shields or dragging them back to Gaza — it is unspeakable,” he said.

“It is evil, and what they are doing constitutes war crimes,” he added.

Cruz accused Biden officials of funding Hamas terrorism on X.

“Biden officials knew that sending American tax dollars to Gaza would fund Hamas’s terrorism. He did it anyway. The catastrophe now unfolding in Israel is the direct and predictable result of explicit policy choices made by Joe Biden,” he argued.

Cruz referred to a State Department warning in 2021 that sending U.S. aid to areas controlled by Palestinian groups could benefit Iran-supported terrorist groups such as Hamas.

“A March 2021 internal State Department document that was obtained by the Washington Free Beacon earlier this year and verified by Fox News Digital shows officials privately communicating their concerns that a Biden administration plan to unfreeze over $360 million in U.S. funds for the Palestinian Authority could risk benefiting terror groups, a trade-off the officials argued was necessary for national security,” the report said.

“We assess there is a high risk Hamas could potentially derive indirect, unintentional benefit from U.S. assistance to Gaza. There is less but still some risk U.S. assistance would benefit other designated groups,” the State Department wrote in the document. “Notwithstanding this risk, State believes it is in our national security interest to provide assistance in the West Bank and Gaza to support the foreign policy objectives.”

Conservative commentator Charlie Kirk added further context for Cruz’s accusation that the Biden administration had funded the Palestinian invasion in concrete ways.

“The $1.9 TRILLION American Rescue Plan was supposed to be about helping *Americans* recover from idiotic COVID lockdowns,” Kirk said. “But for some reason, $500 million of that deficit spending went to the State Department to ‘resettle refugees’.”

“$33.7 million went directly to Gaza via the UNRWA, an organization that’s been described as ‘effectively a branch of Hamas’,” he added. “In total, Biden has given this branch of Hamas $730 million since 2021, making the US taxpayer its largest donor in the world.”

“UNRWA employees in Gaza belong to the Hamas-linked trade union and a number of employees are actual Hamas fighters,” he added. “UNRWA schools teach kids to hate Jews and glorify terrorism. UNRWA facilities are often used to store rockets, munitions, and serve as human shields for Hamas.”

Here is an example of some of the anti-Jewish hatred taught at UNRWA schools.

“Trump defunded them in 2018 because all of this is common knowledge,” Kirk continued. “But Biden’s State Department says it’s in ‘America’s national security interest to fund them’ despite the group being guilty of war crimes.”

“Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan ended up being the spark inflation, fund terrorism, and kill Jews plan,” Kirk argued. “This flow of money must immediately stop and the terrorist sympathizers responsible should be fired and held accountable.”

“Absolutely infuriating how DC spends our money,” he added.
