Treasury Sec. Dodges Questions on Bank Spying Program for MAGA, Trump Supporters & Bible Purchasers

The Treasury Department has admitted that it assisted law enforcement in catching people involved in the Jan. 6 Capitol breach by urging banks to comb through customers’ private transactions using terms like “MAGA” and “Trump” as part of a surveillance scheme intended to combat money launderers but used to track down Jan. 6ers.

The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), the US Treasury Department’s financial crime-fighting unit, engaged in “pervasive financial surveillance” by distributing documents to banks that listed keywords that could be used to flag private financial transactions of potential Jan. 6 suspects for law enforcement.

The documents also purportedly provided instructions for banks to use indicators such as “the purchase of books (including religious texts)” and subscriptions to media with “extremist views.”

The startling allegations that FinCEN compelled banks to monitor their customers’ private transactions for suspicious charges based in part on political and religious expression drove Republican senators to seek answers.

Among these was Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), the top Republican on the Senate Banking Committee, who pressed Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and FinCEN director Andrea Gacki for answers in a Jan. 19 letter, claiming that, if true, the allegations “represent a flagrant violation of Americans’ privacy and the improper targeting of U.S. citizens for exercising their constitutional rights without due process.”

Biden’s Treasury Secretary on Thursday skirted several questions from Republicans about why her department directed banks to search Americans’ financial data after January 6 for ‘extremists.’

Federal investigators in Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) urged US banks to search customer transactions for key terms such as ‘MAGA’ and ‘Trump,’  as well as explicitly ‘monitoring’ Trump supporters and Americans who visit outdoor retailers like Cabela’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Bass Pro Shops, as well as those who purchased religious literature like Bibles.

“Did you shop at Bass Pro Shop yesterday or purchase a Bible? If so, the federal government may be watching you,” Jordan posted on X in January, when news first broke of the surveillance tactics.

“We now know the federal government flagged terms like ‘MAGA’ and ‘TRUMP,’ to financial institutions if Americans completed transactions using those terms,” he wrote in another post. “What was also flagged? If you bought a religious text, like a BIBLE, or shopped at Bass Pro Shop.”

The article generated furious Republican opposition against the Biden administration, with many demanding explanations regarding the government’s eavesdropping tactics.

Yellen was also challenged about her agency’s surveillance demands this week during two hearings on Capitol Hill.

“Has Treasury … instructed financial institutions to search Americans’ legal transactions in attempts to surveil their purchases?” Republican Rep. Ann Wagner (R-MO) asked Yellen at a hearing Tuesday.

“Well we received a letter from you I believe on this topic and we intend to investigate fully,” Yellen claimed.

“Are they instructing financial institutions to search Americans’ legal transactions in attempts to surveil their purchases?” Wagner asked again.

“I promise a thorough look into everything,” the secretary remarked.

“This is really concerning, and I would hope you get to it just as quickly as possible, Madam Secretary,” Wagner fumed.

During a Senate Banking Committee hearing on Thursday, Republican Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) scolded the secretary over Treasury’s unconstitutional surveillance of Americans.

“FinCEN was created to stop money laundering and not to spy on Americans,” he said. “It was not created for political motivations.”

Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN) also grilled Yellen, but she claimed the surveillance program had started before she became secretary and she would look into it.

“I will get back to you with more detailed information when I’ve had a chance to study this thoroughly,” she told the Tennessee Republican.

Republican senators also excoriated Yellen for the Treasury’s unfreezing of $6 billion of funding to Iran, which is backing proxies to attack U.S. troops in the Middle East.

GOP Congressman Who Voted Against Impeaching Mayorkas Abruptly Announces Retirement

A Republican congressman who did not vote for the impeachment of DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas last week has suddenly announced that he is retiring.

“Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI), the chair of the House Select Committee on China, said Saturday he will not seek reelection in November,” Axios reported.

“Gallagher is the fourth Republican committee chair to announce their retirement in 2024 and the second just this week,” the report noted, alluding to Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), announcing that she won’t be seeking re-election.

“The Framers intended citizens to serve in Congress for a season and then return to their private lives,” Gallagher said in a statement.

“Electoral politics was never supposed to be a career and, trust me, Congress is no place to grow old. And so, with a heavy heart, I have decided not to run for re-election.”

Gallagher’s retirement announcement comes just days after his controversial vote against impeaching DHS Secretary Mayorkas.

He has faced “significant backlash for his vote from allies of former President Trump — including threats of a primary challenge — for his vote,” Axios noted.

Four Republican Congressmen voted against a historic impeachment effort against Homeland Secretary Alejandro Majorkas, temporarily scuttling the effort to impeach the first Cabinet Secretary in over 150 years.

Three of the GOP congressmen voted “no” straight up — Ken Buck of Colorado and Tom McClintock of California, and Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin — but one Congressman actually flipped his vote from ‘yes’ to ‘no’ in order to raise the possibility of bringing back the impeachment resolution under a Motion to Reconsider: Blake Moore of Utah.

The final vote count was 216-214, thereby causing the vote to fail. Another Congressman, Steve Scalise of Louisiana, missed the vote due to cancer treatments.

The two articles of impeachment against Mayorkas: Refusal to Comply with the Law and Breach of Public Trust.

The Republican Party’s control of the House of Representatives prior to this week was already tenuous due to the abrupt departure of three Congressmen: Former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Rep. Bill Johnson (R-OH), and Rep. George Santos (R-NY), who was expelled by the House.

New York’s special election in the third district this month, following the ouster of George Santos from the House of Representatives, will also impact the race. It features a “Republican” candidate, Mazi Pilip, who was a registered Democrat.

As Ballotpedia notes, “The outcome of the election will help determine the balance of members in the U.S. House of Representatives. As of January 21, 2024, there were 219 Republicans and 213 Democrats in the House, giving Republicans a seven-member advantage with New York’s 3rd as one of three vacancies.”

However, Republican Rep. Victoria Spartz of Indiana announced she will seek reelection iin 2024 after previously deciding to retire.

Four Republican Votes Cause House Impeachment of DHS Secretary Mayorkas to Fail

Bob Costas calls MAGA a Cult that is a ‘Coalition of the Brainless’

Veteran NBC broadcaster Bob Costas appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher on Friday and slammed MAGA supporters as a “coalition of the brainless” who need to be “repudiated.”

Former President Donald Trump is the current frontrunner in the 2024 presidential race and is backed by tens of millions of Americans.

“The MAGA cult, which is a coalition of the brainless and when it comes to fellow Republicans, the spineless, that coalition is not going away,” Costas raved.

“They want, for the time being, Trump,” he continued. “If Biden stepped aside tomorrow, there wouldn’t be a bunch of Democratic voters going, ‘oh, please, please stop,’ Your friend Gavin, Gavin Newsom, who’s a very charismatic and dynamic guy, but he’s being disingenuous when he makes an articulate case for Biden.”

“Then says, ‘I just don’t understand why this hasn’t landed.’ Yes, you do, Gavin, because Biden can’t utter one sentence of the five perfect paragraphs you just put together,” Costas continued. “He, not only can he not make the case for himself, he cannot prosecute in the court of public opinion, the case against Trump.”

“And what needs to happen here isn’t a narrow victory, which is the best Biden could hope for,” he went on. “Trump, and what he represents, must be repudiated, not conservatism or Republicanism. MAGA must be repudiated and Biden ain’t the man for that job.”

In the same episode, Maher remarked on Special Counsel Robert Hur’s assessment of Biden’s classified documents scandal.

“He spent 300 pages calling Biden Mr. Magoo, basically,” Maher quipped.

Costas did attempt to defend Biden’s deteriorating mental state by claiming that Donald Trump is a “ranting lunatic” who has “mental gaffes of his own.”

Bill Maher also weighed in on Taylor Swift’s involvement in U.S. politics by stating that, “This is a person who could literally swing this election. I don’t know what that says about this country.”

It should be noted that MAGA supporters are not a “coalition of the brainless,” like Bob Costas claimed.

“MAGA = Less govt, low taxes, America First, stop the foreign wars & no border invasion,” pundit Kyle Becker noted on X. “There’s NOTHING unreasonable about it. The radical left’s weaponization of government is what needs to be ‘repudiated’.”

Many Trump supporters simply want the nation to return to stability, a solution to the border crisis, a non-interventionist foreign policy that keeps America out of involvement in unnecessary foreign wars, a booming economy that benefits all citizens, and a leader who is articulate and coherent, even if most of the major corporate press disagrees with him.

Denver Mayor Put on Blast After Announcing Budget Cuts Due to Spending on Illegal Aliens

Denver Mayor Mike Johnston announced on Friday morning that there would be service cuts that the city would implement in response to a dire fiscal situation.

During the press conference, Johnston focused on Congress and their inability to tackle the border crisis. He stated that a resolution would have eased the city’s responsibility of providing services to unauthorized immigrants.

“We would have a balanced flow of people that would come with work authorization. That would come with federal resources, and cities like ours could successfully integrate them,” said Johnston.

He emphasized that these are just the beginning of a series of budget reductions that would be implemented equally throughout Denver.

Johnston announced cuts to the DMV and Parks and Recreation to free up more resources to pay for the unauthorized migrants. He added that hourly workers can anticipate fewer hours and on-call and seasonal workers will be the most affected.

Mayor Johnston remarked that there were almost 4,000 people in shelter, at least 80% of them being families and kids.

“We hit 5,000 people about a month ago. That was 12 times the volume we had seen previously, and so that was what we were prepared for budgeting,” he said.

Mayor Johnston then tried to pin the blame for the budget cuts on “selfish” Republicans in Congress refusing to pass the “border security” bill.

“They would have rather seen it fail so they could exacerbate these problems, extend the suffering of the American people and for newcomers for their own election chances this November,” he said.

According to Johnston, this is the first wave of cuts, but it is far from the last or most painful.

“We know that folks who’ve been seasonal workers for us for 20 years, so I don’t want to hide the fact that this matters a lot to those people that are on the frontlines,” Johnston said. “This is a plan for shared sacrifice. This is what good people do in hard situations as you try to manage your way to serve all of our values.”

Chaya Raichik, known for her popular X account LibsofTikTok, noted that, “Democrats made Denver a sanctuary city in 2017. Democrats control Colorado and passed progressive immigration policies in 2021.”

There were several reactions to Mayor Johnston attempting to blame Republicans for the migrant crisis in Denver.

“Always blaming Republicans for the failures of Democrat policies,” X account Planet of Memes remarked.

“Hey @MikeJohnstonCO , how is this in ANY WAY a Republican issue? Democrats told illegals to come to Denver by making Denver a sanctuary city. This is 100% on @coloradodems,” Conservative Momma commented.

“But they keep getting elected. It’s maddening,” Mary Helene said.

“Denver and CO progressives voted for sanctuary city, zero bail, no jail time, and defund the police,” said @PeterWagnr. “Congratulations Denver, you won on all of those issues!!! Bask in the glory of your voting and please enjoy all of your new neighbors.

“There hasn’t been a Republican in years in Denver. That city is as Blue as can be,” noted @Shayedaway72.

“Denver is going to turn into a sh*thole just like San Francisco if this keeps up. Just wait,” said Paul A. Szypula. “Slowly but surely all of the resources meant for Americans will be spent catering to illegals. There’s nothing stopping it from getting worse under Democrat leadership.”

CNN ‘Fact Checker’ Destroys Biden’s Classified Documents Defense Point-by-Point

CNN ‘Fact Checker’ Destroys Biden’s Classified Documents Defense Point-by-Point

President Joe Biden has been defended vigorously by major corporate news networks throughout his presidency.

But following the release of a damaging Special Counsel report on his classified documents scandal, CNN aired a brutal “fact check” of Biden’s defense for his illegal mishandling and dissemination of top secret information.

CNN’s senior reporter Daniel Dale, acting in the capacity of a “fact checker,” dismantled Biden’s defense point-by-point in a devastating takedown.

“While one thing that President Biden said is basically that he stored the documents in filing cabinets that could be locked. Let’s listen,” CNN’s John Berman said before airing a clip from President Biden’s press conference.

“All the stuff that was in my home was in filing cabinets that were either locked or able to be locked,” Biden claimed.

“Just not true,” Dale replied. “John, this report from the Special Counsel includes photos. Those photos include shots of a box just sitting in President Biden’s Delaware garage. The special counsel described it as a badly damaged box sitting amid household detritus. So there was some material that was in cabinets, locked or lockable as the president said, but all of it’s certainly not in that open unsealed damage box included, according to the special counsel, highly sensitive top secret material about the war in Afghanistan.”

“Okay, another claim that President Biden made. None of the documents were highly classified,” John Berman said. “Let’s listen.”

“None of it was high classified, didn’t have any of that red stuff on it, you know what I mean, around the corners,” Biden said. “None of that.”

“That claim that he didn’t have any material that was high classified is also not true,” Dale responded. “John, this special counsel’s report says that the president possessed multiple highly classified documents that were indeed marked as being highly classified documents, including some marked as Top Secret/SCI — sensitive compartmented information. That is a very high level of classification.”

“For example, Special Counsel Hur discussed two Top Secret documents about Afghanistan found in that open unsealed damage box in the garage, one of which Hur said contains highly sensitive info about military programs and another that contains info about sensitive intelligence and sources and methods,” he continued.

“Now it’s not clear, John, if any of those Biden documents had those colored borders we saw on classified docs that former President Trump had, which I think is what President Biden was referring to when he talked about red around the corners,” he added. “But still, whatever coloring these documents had, the special counsel says they were clearly marked as highly classified.”

“And then I should add Hur also said that investigators analysis of Biden’s own handwritten notes from his time as vice president showed that these notebooks also contained highly classified info,” he went on. “Though those were not marked and Hur set a sampling of 37 excerpts found that eight are top secret with sensitive compartmented information, seven of which include information concerning human intelligence sources, plus six others that were top secret.”

“And then the third claim that he made Daniel there was that he did not share classified information with a ghost writer on a book he was working on,” John Berman said. “Listen to that.”

“I did not share classified information,” Biden claimed. “I did not share with your ghostwriter. With my ghostwriter. Did not guarantee you did not. Counsel said he did not say that. He did not say that.”

“So he’s entitled to say he didn’t do it,” Dale said. “He can defend himself. But he also said the special counsel didn’t say that he did share that classified info with the ghostwriter. Except, John, the special counsel did say that explicitly. Hur wrote Mr. Biden shared information including some classified information from those notebooks with his ghostwriter. So there it is in black and white.”

“Now, Hur did elaborate that Biden shared classified info with the ghost writer by reading nearly verbatim from the notebooks on at least three occasions, including notes from meetings in the situation room,” Dale continued. “He did find that Biden quote at times tried to avoid sharing classified info like by skipping over certain material as he was reading them to the ghost writer and Hur did write that the evidence does not show that Biden knew the info was classified. Nonetheless, even though the special counsel did clearly give him some material to defend himself with, this is not a factual defense.”

“So he could cite the factual stuff Hur said, didn’t know it was intentional, et cetera, but declaring the special counsel just did not say what he said… is not a factual defense,” he concluded.

Fani Willis Defies Congressional Subpoena, Forcing It to Be Hand-Served to Her by U.S. Marshals

According to an exclusive in the Daily Caller, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis failed to accept service of a House Judiciary Committee subpoena via email, requiring the U.S. Marshals Service to personally deliver it to her.

On Feb. 2, the House Judiciary Committee issued a subpoena to Willis for records relating to her suspected misuse of federal funds in her indictment of former President Donald Trump. Willis refused to accept the subpoena when it was emailed to her, forcing the U.S. Marshals Service to serve it on her, according to a source familiar with the case.

The Daily Caller was able to independently verify that the U.S. Marshals Service had to serve the subpoena to Willis.

“Why wouldn’t Fani Willis just accept service like everyone else? Making the U.S. Marshal’s Service use taxpayer money to do this is a complete waste of time and resources. But we shouldn’t be surprised when it comes to her office,” a source familiar with the situation told the Daily Caller.

The House Judiciary Committee requested that Willis turn over all documents and communications relating to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office’s receipt and use of federal funds from the Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, and Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.

The Daily Caller News Foundation reported extensively on Willis’ alleged misuse of government funds and inability to properly report it. As a result, Republican Georgia Lt. Governor Burt Jones formed a special committee to investigate Willis. The nonpartisan committee, comprised of six Republicans and three Democrats, will investigate Willis’ relationship with her lover Nathan Wade, as well as the potential misuse of taxpayer monies.

Willis admits to having a relationship with Wade, the special prosecutor she hired to investigate Trump’s election tampering case. Over the last few weeks, the Fulton County District Attorney has been accused of being Wade’s boyfriend and inappropriately benefiting from lucrative contracts awarded to him by her office.

“Fani Willis, the D.A. of Fulton County, just admitted to having a sexual relationship with the Prosecutor she, in consultation with the White House and DOJ, appointed to ‘GET PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP,’” Trump posted. “By going after the most high level person, and the Republican Nominee, she was able to get her ‘lover’ much more money, almost a Million Dollars, than she would be able to get for the prosecution of any other person or individual. THAT MEANS THAT THIS SCAM IS TOTALLY DISCREDITED & OVER!”

CNN Sounds ‘Five Alarm Fire’ on Biden Presidency After Disastrous Press Conference

President Joe Biden is under fire for his handling of a Special Counsel report on his mishandling of classified documents that declined to recommend charges against him because a jury would find him too mentally unfit to convict him.

In an emergency press conference held Thursday night, a rarity for his administration, Biden tried to put out the firestorm caused by the Special Counsel’s revelations about his poor memory and lack of cognitive acuity.

Meanwhile, on CNN, the pundits were apparently given the green light to pour on heavy scrutiny of Joe Biden — an ominous sign for the Biden campaign.

“I don’t think the president did himself any favors in that speech. He undercut two of his biggest messages. The adults are back in charge by sort of being dismissive of, yes, he was exonerated,” Farrah Griffin misleadingly claimed.

The Special Counsel report declined to bring charges against Biden for a host of reasons, despite being a private citizen who “willfully” procured, stored and transmitted highly classified information in an illegal manner, but would likely be found non compos mentis by a jury. It should be noted it is not the Special Counsel’s job to consider defense tactics, but to adjudicate the law.

“He’s not going to be convicted or tried for this, but there’s some really damning pieces of information in here,” she continued. “He had deliberations around Afghan war plans with him. He spoke to a biographer about classified documents who didn’t have clearance. This showed a decent level of reckless mishandling of classified information…”

“He said that he didn’t,” Anderson Cooper interjected, repeating Biden’s false talking point.

“He said that he didn’t,” she agreed. “So I think there was a dismissiveness to the seriousness of this. And then on the other hand, they were using this bizarre line to say he stepped away from an international crisis, the biggest attack on our ally Israel since the Holocaust, to go deal with a self-inflicted investigation by the Department of Justice. How is that supposed to inspire confidence? I don’t know why he went back out. He already said most of this in Virginia today, but this is becoming a five alarm fire for the White House.”

Jeffrey Toobin of infamous zoom call fame chimed in: “Mexico? Mexico? Where did that come from? I mean, that’s the only thing anyone is going to remember from this. He was exonerated here. And I think it’s an easy call that he was exonerated.”

Once again, the Special Counsel declined to press charges for reasons that do not have to do with Joe Biden’s clear violations of the law against mishandling classified documents.

“And I think legally, he’s never had a problem with this. Because the issue of criminal intent was quite clearly absent in the Biden case and certainly, according to the accusations, in the Jack Smith indictment, is very much present in the Trump case. I think they are very different and the report even spelled this out. But Mexico? I mean, politically, how do you explain that?” he rambled.

“If I may say, if we weren’t living in the Donald Trump era, where there’s 91 indictments and he woefully mishandled classified documents, and he didn’t cooperate with investigations, if this was 10 years ago, this would still be a huge story,” she continued.

Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified documents after he was vice president is far more egregious than former President Donald Trump’s storage of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago, which was a secured location under Secret Service protection and which he was authorized to do under the Presidential Records Act.

Biden Lashes Out at Angrily at Reporter Who Questions His Mental Fitness to Be President

Biden Lashes Out at Angrily at Reporter Who Questions His Mental Fitness to Be President

Reporters appear to have gotten the ‘green light’ to begin the takedown of Joe Biden’s presidency.

Biden lashed out at reporters at press conference on Thursday night following disturbing revelations in the special counsel report suggesting he is mentally unfit for the office.

“Mr. President, for months, when you were asked about your age, you would respond with the words, ‘watch me, watch me.’ Many American people have been watching and they have expressed concerns about your age,” the reporter said.

“That is your judgment!” Biden bellowed. “That is your judgment! This is according to public, that is not the judgment.”

“They expressed concerns about your mental acuity,” the report added. “They say that you are too old. Mr. President, in December, you told me that you believe there are many other Democrats who could defeat Donald Trump. So why does it have to be you now? What is your answer to that question?”

“I’m the most qualified person in this country to be president of the United States and finish the job I started,” he retorted.

Joe Biden had earlier addressed the special counsel’s report by boasting that he had given a five hour interview over two days.

Joe Biden in the same address stated that Mexico borders on Gaza, which is the Middle East.

Biden also referred to the Egyptian president El-Sisi as the “president of Mexico.”

Special Counsel Robert Hur on Thursday released a report that found that Joe Biden “willfully” retained and disclosed highly classified materials while a private citizen, including documents about military and foreign policy in Afghanistan and other sensitive national security matters, but no criminal charges are warranted against him or anyone else.

Beyond Joe Biden’s unlawful retention and disclosure of highly classified information as a private citizen, Hur’s report details mortifying example of the current president’s lack of recall about events, including when he was vice president.

Hur’s report discusses an incident regarding classified information on the Afghan War and his discussions with a ghostwriter for his autobiography.

“In addition. Mr. Biden’s memory was significantly limited, both during his recorded interviews with the ghostwriter in 2017, and in his interview with our office in 2023. And his cooperation with our investigation, including by reporting to the government that the Afghanistan documents were in his Delaware garage, will likely convince some jurors that he made an innocent mistake, rather than acting willfully-that is, with intent to break the law-as the statute requires.”

The Justice department decided not to give much weight to Biden’s words due to his lack of memory recall.

“Given Mr. Biden’s limited precision and recall during his interviews with his ghostwriter and with our office, jurors may hesitate to place too much evidentiary weight on a single eight-word utterance to his ghostwriter about finding classified documents in Virginia, in the absence of other, more direct evidence. We searched for such additional evidence and found it wanting. In particular, no witness, photo, email, text message, or any other evidence conclusively places the Afghanistan documents at the Virginia home in 2017.”

Thus, the Special Counsel’s attorneys did not recommend charges, in part, because they deem that Biden might cut a sympathetic figure due to his frailty and senility.

“We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory. Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt. It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him-by then a former president well into his eighties-of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness. We conclude the evidence is not sufficient to convict, and we decline to recommend prosecution of Mr. Biden for his retention of the classified Afghanistan documents.”

This is, however, on its face, a more egregious offense than any facing Joe Biden’s election rival Donald Trump in his own classified documents case.

The worst passage from Hur’s report follows below:

“In his interview with our office, Mr. Biden’s memory was worse. He did not remember when he was vice president, forgetting on the first day of the interview when his term ended (‘if it was 2013 – when did I stop being Vice President?’), and forgetting on the second day of the interview when his term began (‘in 2009, am I still Vice President?’). He did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died. And his memory appeared hazy when describing the Afghanistan debate that was once so important to him. Among other things, he mistakenly said he ‘had a real difference’ of opinion with General Karl Eikenberry, when, in fact, Eikenberry was an ally whom Mr. Biden cited approvingly in his Thanksgiving memo to President Obama.”

While Joe Biden has struggled with memory throughout his presidency, often mixing up persons and places, he is now recalling events that didn’t even happen with world leaders who have long been dead.

During a fundraiser on Wednesday at the home of Maureen White, whose husband Steven Rattner manages billionaire former Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s fortune, Biden referenced the deceased German Chancellor Helmut Kohl.

“I showed up … and I sat down and said, ‘America’s back,’ and [French President Emmanuel] Macron looked at me and said, ‘For how long?’ How long? Not a joke,” Biden recalled, according to a pool report.

“Helmut Kohl said, ‘Joe, what would you think if you picked up the phone and picked up the paper tomorrow and learned in the London Times, on the front page, that 1,000 people stormed the Parliament, broke down the doors of the House of Commons and killed 2 bobbies in the process … trying to stop the election of a prime minister?’” he added.

U.S. President Joe Biden also told a nearly identical anecdote in Las Vegas that included long-deceased French leader François Mitterrand, who was in office from 1981 to 1995 and died in 1996, while confusing the nations of Germany and France.

“Right after I was elected, I went to a G7 meeting in southern England. And I sat down and said, ‘America is back!’ and Mitterand from Germany — I mean France — looked at me and said, ‘How long you back for?’” Biden retold.

The Democrat-supporting establishment press did its best to cover for the now-perpetually disoriented president — Politico calling the concerning mix-up a mere “slip of the tongue” — but Biden has now repeated the same mistake three times within a week.

The New York Post reports that Biden told the same story at a “stop at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel near Columbus Circle, for an event hosted by Dr. Ramon Tallaj, chairman of the nonprofit SOMOS Community Care and a member of Mayor Eric Adams’s COVID-19 recovery task force,” except this version featured the deceased “Helmut Kohl of Germany.”

While the U.S. corporate press has long abandoned any pretense of objectivity when it comes to the nation’s politics, another historical comparison would be apt to highlight the absurd double standard when it comes to invoking the 25th amendment as a pretext to remove a president from office.

When Donald Trump was in the White House, the press would from time to time raise the possibility of removing the president from office under the pretext of the 25th amendment.

The 25th Amendment, states, among other things that, “Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.”

Not a murmur from the press about the constitutional amendment, however, hastily drafted and ratified in the aftermath of the Kennedy assassination, has been forthcoming despite a number of concerning gaffes from President Biden highly suggestive of a rapidly deteriorating mental condition that renders him unfit for the nation’s highest office.

At the end of former President Ronald Reagan’s second term, his aides mulled over the possibility of removing the aging and declining leader from office.

“The president was acting strangely. In the wake of a scandal about his illegal dealings with foreign powers, White House aides felt he was so “inattentive and inept” that a memo sent to the chief of staff raised the prospect of invoking the 25th Amendment to remove him from office,” History.com recalls.

“The president was Ronald Reagan, who was dealing with fallout from the Iran-Contra scandal,” the story added. “His chief of staff ultimately dismissed the possibility of using the 25th Amendment to remove him, but the incident is one of the few cases in American history in which White House staff seriously suggested it as an option for removing a president from office, based on his ability to perform the job.”

The 25th amendment’s invocation as a pretext to remove a sitting president appears to be highly selective, indeed. It is enough to make one question whether the press cares more about the mental and physical fitness of the sitting president than his party affiliation.

Special Counsel Report Reveals Biden Cannot Remember When He Was Vice President

Special Counsel Report on Classified Documents Scandal Declines to Recommend Biden Prosecution

President Joe Biden “willfully” retained and disclosed highly classified materials while a private citizen, including documents about military and foreign policy in Afghanistan and other sensitive national security matters, according to a Justice Department report.

However, no criminal charges are warranted against him or anyone else, the Special Counsel report stated.

The report from Special Counsel Robert Hur, issued Thursday, is sharply critical of Biden’s handling of classified government data, but it also explains why he should not be charged with the crime.

We conclude that no criminal charges are warranted in this matter. We would reach the same conclusion even if Department of Justice policy did not foreclose criminal charges against a sitting president.

Our investigation uncovered evidence that President Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private>citizen. These materials included (1) marked classified documents about military and foreign policy in Afghanistan, and (2) notebooks containing Mr. Biden’s handwritten entries about issues of national security and foreign policy implicating sensitive intelligence sources and methods. FBI agents recovered these materials from the garage, offices, and basement den in Mr. Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware home.

However, for the reasons summarized below, we conclude that the evidence does not establish Mr. Biden’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Prosecution of Mr. Biden is also unwarranted based on our consideration of the aggravating and mitigating factors set forth in the Department of Justice’s Principles of Federal Prosecution. For these reasons, we decline prosecution of Mr. Biden.

The Associated Press notes that “The findings will likely blunt his ability to forcefully condemn Donald Trump, Biden’s likely opponent in November’s presidential election, over a criminal indictment charging the former president with illegally hoarding classified records at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.”

Fox News’ Bill Melugin reported on photos included in the filing.

Special Counsel Robert Hur does not recommend prosecution of President Joe Biden because “the fundamental interests of society” do not “require” criminal charges against Biden.

Thus, the DOJ is thus not basing its decision on the law but on political considerations.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump faces 40 criminal counts in his own case, although it is unclear that he actually committed a crime, because of the Presidential Records Act and other laws that pertain to the executive branch.
